kidney stone update + pictures

i left my phone at home today. convienient, i know, on the day that i'd be hearing back from my doctor about whether or not i have a kidney stone. i had a CT scan yesterday to determine if there is one in my body again. thankfully, the answer is no. the voicemail said that everything came back normal. i'm not really sure what has been happening with my body that all of these freaky things started happening, but regardless, there should be no worry that i might end up in the emergency room thanks to another kidney stone.

on to happier subjects... as promised, here are some pictures for you. this first picture is from our recent first expedition to the hillcrest farmers market. they set up a lot of tents (kind of kolache festival style, if you've ever been) and have all types of fresh fruits and vegetables ... oh, and flowers. in some cases, things were a bit pricier than going to the regular grocery store, but it was 100% fresh and nothing that we tried was picked too soon. it was perfect. the strawberries have a mexican flavored seasoning on them. i was hesitant to try it because the sweet with the spice scared me, but i have to say, i give it at least one thumb up.

this picture of our beloved dustyn is before we went to the padres v. giants baseball game. he was in such a silly mood. i love the picture because he is obviously a grown up man, but he has the funniest, quirkiest kid smile on his face... you know... one of those, "i've been forced to turn around and smile at the dumb camera so i'm not gonna smile right" kind of pictures. :)

this picture is of jennifer and i at the padres stadium here in san diego. this stadium was built in a not-so-great part of san diego, and since it's construction, has turned around that part of downtown and it's now thriving. do you see the buildings in the background that look like high rise condos? well, they are. there are several buildings that have complete views directly into the stadium. maybe a few of them are hotels. it's crazy! my favorite part about the whole stadium is that they had to build around an old, red brick building. it's a historic building, and now it's part of the stadium. if you look to the left in the picture, it's the part of the stadium closest to the picture's edge. it's really cool because they added a top section of seating on top of the old brick building. it looks a little out of place, but it's pretty humorous.

this last photo is from the trip dustyn and i made to california adventures a few weeks ago. i was extremely unenthusiastic about going. my allergies were so bad on that day, my eyes were watering constantly. all i really wanted to do was hang out at home and sleep. dustyn had other plans. in the end, i had a blast. we had such a great day together and i turned into a complete kid when i saw the pixar parade. we got to see woody and buzz lightyear. all of the characters from the incredibles. the characters from the movie cars... all of them. it was seeing this parade that put me in the absolute best mood for the rest of the day. i got caught up in the "spirit of disneyland". some of the park is under construction and they're adding new elements for a cool new night show, but overall, everything existing was fantastic. this is the dork in me, but one of my favorite things at amusement parks is the frozen lemonade. i asked dustyn early in the day if i could get one and he agreed. we finally tracked down a stand, and they didn't have my favorite flavor... strawberry. i settled for the regular lemonade, but then they were out of spoons. it was a manhunt to find the stand, and then another race to find a spoon from another stand. doesn't seem like it'd be so difficult to find a spoon, but believe me... they were having a spoon recession that day. and, the lemonade was too hard to eat with just your teeth...

i hope you enjoy these few pictures. we are doing great. our apartment is in shambles... organized shambles... but it's slowly all coming down. everything is off the walls and boxed. we're about to box up one of the coat closets because, as i've mentioned before... there's really no need for winter coats in SD. all of our board games are about to find their new home in a box as well. get ready - we're looking forward to game playing as soon as we're back. we should get a big group together... penny, randy, derryk, leslie, anna, daniel, claudia, dave, kara, sloan, etc... wow... this is going to be a big group! maybe we could have tournaments or something.

anne... prepare yourself for a major nerts night. i can't wait!

last thing. i took my sister's senior pictures while she was here in san diego. please feel free to look at the pictures here: http://magan.smugmug.com/. i need any feedback you can provide. tell me what you like what you don't. i tried editing the same pictures a couple of different ways to test things out. i'd love your thoughts.

xo.
