post 60. basic. dine out for life. three weeks.

today marks my 60th post. that doesn't seem like a lot over a 9 month, give or take, period.



tonight, i'm going to an event at basic called dine out for life. 80+ restaurants are donating 25% of their profits from the day to aids services/prevention programs. donations will also be taken. kelley and carie have been religiously sending out invites for the event, so i'm going. it's something that means a lot to them, and as a friend, i think it's important to support our friends in things they're passionate about. (to an extent. i could go on for a while about this, but i digress...)



i'm listening to pandora as i wait for dustyn to pick me up. my suggestion is that you listen to the song called two coins by dispatch. i love the sound. very acoustic. lighthearted. talks about pockets and reaching into the person's pocket for some small change, and i guess i feel it's kind of relevant to the event tonight.



transitioning to another subject...



today, someone asked me when we're moving; i had just broken the news to the rep and she wanted to know when my last day at the big G is. i told her May 22nd. she said, "wow. three weeks from tomorrow." i almost fell on the ground. can you believe that in three weeks, i will be stuck in a car with my whiny, whimpering dog headed back to TX? THREE WEEKS. we have so much packing to do! after i informed dustyn of the short timeline, he told me, "well, i've done my share of packing. time for you to finish."



he's referring to the large amount of paperwork he's scanned recently. in a previous post, i discussed our need to declutter our lives and organize. well, in the last two or so weeks, dustyn has scanned over 3000 pieces of paper, as well as shredded, and taken out 5 completely stuffed bags of shredded paper. can you believe it? we are a mere two people on this planet! one thing we've both noticed is how long target makes their receipts... why do i need a 2' long receipt for the three items i bought? and why am i getitng coupons for formula when i've NEVER bought anything baby related? aren't the coupons supposed to somewhat associate with your previous purchases?



ok... well, i should start wrapping up. i need to submit my timesheet since i will not be at work tomorrow. hopefully i can write again tomorrow. :)
